We currently have a vacancy within our Governance Team as the Assistant Risk Insurance Complaints Officer. You will be responsible for providing assistance and support in the effective and efficient delivery of enterprise risk, insurance and complaints management services across the council. As the Assistant Risk Insurance Officer your day may consist of, but not limited to the following:

  • Support the Governance, Integrity and Ethics team to deliver high quality enterprise risk, insurance and complaints management services.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of risk projects and programs.
  • Assist with the maintenance and reviews of risk registers for all council’s enterprise, strategic and operational risk management activities.
  • Liaise with Council’s insurance brokers and assist with ensuring insurance claims are managed fairly and effectively.
  • Work flexible hours as required, including occasional evenings to support the overall functions of the Governance, Integrity and Ethics team.
  • Prepare reports relating to insurance and risk projects for the Council, Executive and ARIC as required.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Certificate III in Business Administration, Risk Management or equivalent
  • Understanding of risk management practices
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • High level of computer skills including data entry and experience in using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Work, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement with a focus on contributing to the development and review of processes, procedures and systems.
