This one of a kind career opportunity will see you work in one of Canberra’s most prestigious government entity to create and deliver high-end experiences.

You will oversee the event catering team on the delivery of exceptional food and beverage services. This multi-faceted administrative and operation role will require flair and passion as well as elegance and commitment to drive this busy Catering Division. 

Operating across multiple dining rooms and event spaces both private and semi-private, the Event Operation Manager oversees all aspects of the service and event delivery in a hands on capacity.

 

With a heavy focus on quality and professionalism at all times, this role involves a mix of administrative and operational duties with the scope of responsibilities comprising of finances, procurement, compliance, stock and cost control, customer satisfaction and last but not least building relationships.

This role will see you liaise on a daily basis with members and executives, Government departments, suppliers, contractors, internal colleagues and department heads as well as the general public amongst others.

 

To be successful in this role:

Previous experiences will be paramount to be successful in this position. We are ideally looking for career-driven Hospitality professionals, with experiences as department head, driving functions and events or multi-outlet venues; either in 5-star hotels , prestigious large-scale organisations or multi-faceted top-tier corporate companies. 

You must present a combination of strong administration, planning and organisational skills, financial acumen, operational knowledge and exceptional level of communication. You are meticulous and your keen eye for details means you leave no stones unturned. 

Strong leader, you have the ability to run an efficient and effective team of casual staff to which you promote an inclusive and positive working culture.

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Industry recognised experience and qualifications 
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Be willing to undertake a pre-employment medical and vetting process
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol
