About the role
We are now looking to hire a consultant on a permanent part-time basis to support our high-quality outcome focused ParentsNext pre-employment program. This role will essentially be responsible for assisting parents to identify achievable goals and activities that will support their transition to employment and/or further their education and training. This may include referrals to specialist services, facilitating group activities and linking parents with community-based supports.
Other key duties will include:
- Effectively support participants to identify their barriers to employment and to set personal goals
- Administration, accurate documentation including case notes, reports, purchase orders and program data collection
- Maintaining regular engagement with participants, providing advice and comprehensive pre-employment support
- Maintaining up to date knowledge and providing appropriate referrals for participants seeking support with domestic and family violence
- Liaising with stakeholders such as Services Australia, education and vocational training providers, community services and employers for the benefit of connecting participants
- Meeting key performance indicators by converting leads into sustainable placements
About You
- You will have a solid understanding of the issues experienced by parents, including barriers to education, training and employment
- You are comfortable working in a faced pace, complex role with lots of variety and lots of intensive administrative tasks involved
- Demonstrated experience working with families with multiple and complex needs
- Excellent interpersonal and consultation skills to enable the fostering of strong networks within the community
- You have excellent listening skills with the ability to coach, mentor, encourage and motivate parents; a genuine respect for all customers
- Strong compliance capabilities and IT skills are a must as typing meeting notes at speed will be part of your day to day
- Knowledge of current labour markets and programs
- Flexibitlity to travel to our other Sunshine Coast sites from time to time
Additional requirements:
- To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
- A current Working with Children Check/Blue Card or the willingness to gain one prior to successful commencement
- A current and valid Driver’s Licence
- In line with the direction from the State Government, all authorised workers defined under the Queensland Public Health Order will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 from 15 December 2021. Community Solutions Group also requires all new employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
