The position would ideally suit a person with proven experience in tax compliance and accounting services. A minimum of three year’s full-time experience in the profession is required; ideally applicants will have already commenced the CPA/CA program (generous support offered). The successful applicant will continue to gain experience in Taxation Accounting while being trusted with more client exposure, complex and challenging work.
About the role:
The intermediate role provides significant opportunities to further develop experience in the areas of taxation accounting and superannuation. Working alongside clients and senior team members to provide high quality service, the focus of the position will be:
- Preparation of income tax returns and financial statements for individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts and superannuation funds
- Preparation and review of BAS and IAS for lodgement
- Interim tax planning
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and external third parties
- Liaise with clients regarding queries and tax advice whilst providing amazing service
- Identifying areas where clients and businesses can reduce tax, make claims and increase profit
- Ensuring clients are made aware of their tax compliance obligations
As an intermediate you will be responsible for completing all types of tax returns with consideration of BAS, FBT, CGT and Div. 7A issues. Reporting to a technically strong and highly personable manager, you will join an established business services team and work with some larger, complex clients including entities which will give you exposure to a broad range of industries and business structures.

The successful applicant must see themselves as the tax and financial doctor of clients’ accounts; possessing decision-making, strategic, tax accounting management, negotiation, exceptional attention to detail and communication skills. They need to be dynamic, open and receptive to change as well as able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Highly developed computer skills are essential, with experience in MYOB AE/Client Ledger, BGL, Xero, Quickbooks and MS Office Suite. Experience in a paperless office is also a must.
