Black Box Technologies Australia Pty Ltd being a high-growth multinational firm is seeking an experienced and professional Finance Assistant Manager to join our Australia finance team. This job offers its base location as “Melbourne”  and a Hybrid work culture. This position will play a key role in the organization’s funding strategy and long-term financial security. The Finance Manager will collaborate with the executive management team to analyze department finances and develop budgets that will keep the company’s costs down. 

What You’ll Do?

In this role, the primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Collecting, interpreting, and reviewing financial information.
  • Predicting future financial trends.
  • Perform a variety of advanced financial analyses to determine present and forecasted financial health of the company by maintaining:
    • Accounting Reports & Records, 
    • Monthly Reports – M Schedules, 
    • Prepare accounts to Trial Balance reporting, 
    • Reconcile GL Balance Sheet accounts, 
    • General Journal preparation/entry etc. 
    • Daily Bank Report 
    • Bank Reconciliation
    • Daily Sales Report – Multiple business verticals
    • BAS – monthly (Australia)
    • GST – 2 monthly (NZ) 
  • Producing financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc. by: 
    • Process local supplier invoices & misc invoices
    • Process Overseas/Global Services supplier invoices
    • Process BBCorp invoices & settlement
    • Process direct debits – DHL, rent, etc
    • Maintain EFT payments as required
    • Supplier payment run twice a month
    • Maintain company credit card – ING (monthly) Support customer as per the rostered timings on site.
    • Customer calls re: account enquiries
    • Follow up on overdue/outstanding customers – phone, email
    • Process all credit notes, including price adjs, freight etc
    • Account reconciliations
    • Daily customer receipt allocations
    • Customer credit release
    • Copy invoices as required
    • Evaluation reconciliation & follow up
    • Warranty follow up & closure
    • New credit application review 
    • Prepare monthly Drs Statements
  • Reviewing, monitoring, and managing budgets
    • Statutory Reports – annual
    • Tax Return – annual
    • Budgets – annual
    • Stocktake Overview – annual
    • Liason with banks, Auditors, Local Insurance broker
    • Fixed Asset Register maintenance
  • Developing long-term business plans based on these reports
  • Being responsible for Payroll Services, Monthly Payroll & manage Leave accruals A/L & LSL & Sick. 
  • Developing strategies that work to minimize financial risk.
  • Prepare Regional Reports to present to the International Finance:
    • Daily Sales & Cash Reports via intranet
    • M Schedules & WIP schedule (monthly)
    • Rotate Recs Process (monthly)
    • Variance Analysis (Quarterly)
    • Product Sales – via intranet (monthly)
    • Forecast including – OPEX (monthly via intranet) 
    • Cash Flow forecast (Weekly)
    • OPEX by functional department (monthly)
    • Analyzing market trends and competitors

You’ve been there and done this!

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accountancy or Finance
  • 7+ Years of experience in equivalent finance roles
