The Role:

A true generalist with a wide variety of experience across all HR functions. This role would suit an advisor or someone ready to move to that level.

The successful candidate will take full ownership of this rare opportunity to drive the people and culture function in this stand alone HR role. Be supported by a nursery administration team of 8 while adapting to the role.

Working closely with the Operations Managers and reporting to the General Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a lens for change and continuous improvement. You’ll play a pivotal role in providing advice, support and assistance to the leadership team and our workforce of 80 employees and contractors. 

We are flexible in our approach and are looking to fill a hybrid Part Time 22hrs pw to Full Time 38hrs pw. 

School hours onsite in your own private office in Dromana or work from home, structure your week for a work/life balance we proudly support.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Spring/Seasonal Recruitment drives 
  • Employee lifecycle & HRIS management
  • Performance management & annual reviews including L&D plans
  • HR budgeting and rostering 
  • Supporting key stakeholders with all people related management and ER/IR queries
  • Detailed understanding of:
    • Employment legislation 
    • Award interpretation
    • Industrial relations
  • Payroll processing & Superannuation reporting obligations
  • Workforce planning
  • Culture building and retention strategies
  • Review and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Champion the workplace safety digital platform driving a positive safe work culture & OH&S meetings coordination. 
  • RTW Coordination when cases present themselves
  • Implement COVID guidance from government and health departments across the business

 

About you:

  • This role will be ideal for a well-rounded HR generalist, with a vast experience. 
  • Preferably in an agriculture/horticulture, warehouse, manufacturing, wholesale OR logistics industry (but not essential).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Human Resources  
  • Preferably operated at an advisor level or ready to move to that level.
  • Tertiary qualifications in human resources or equivalent.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail
  • Detailed communicator and able to build rapport across all levels of stakeholders
