About the Opportunity

AUS-MEAT Limited is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team on a 12-month term contract based at our head office in Murarrie.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of end of month journals, reconciliations and assisting with month end reporting requirements
  • Maintenance of the fixed-asset register and credit card expense system.
  • Respond to queries and requests for support from stakeholders.
  • Maintain appropriate financial records as per statutory requirements and company policy.
  • Assist in the delivery of financial returns reports (FBT, insurance and other statutory requirements).
  • Assist in the delivery of annual statutory accounts in conjunction with Finance Manager.
  • Participate and contribute to finance projects and change initiatives.

About You

As ideal applicant for this role, you will have:

  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Accounting.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Finance Assistant role preferably with a medium sized organisation.
  • Experience in EOM and yearly reconciliations.
  • Intermediate skills in MS suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience in Wiise and Promaster would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High accuracy and attention detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, show initiative and manage workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
