United Firefighters Union of Australia – Victorian Branch

 

Job description

The UFU Victorian Branch of the UFU represents employees of fire services in Victoria including operational firefighters, office and other essential services staff. It has over 4,200 members.

This position will support the administrative duties and activities of our union team and provide our members with administrative support when attending workplace consultative committees and working groups.

THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER WILL:

  • Support other team members in the successful delivery of services to our membership base;
  • Assist with Reception and Membership duties as required
  • Assist with Data entry Processing requirements as required   
  • Assist with preparing and collating documents for consultative committees and working parties;
  • Assist with File electronic and drop box version of documents;
  • Assist with the arranging of teleconferences and zoom meetings with internal and external parties;
  • Assist with Membership report preparation 
  • Assist with scanning and filing of  industrial materials, correspondence etc and reducing backlog of filing/culling duplicated and unnecessary documents.
  • And any other administrative tasks as deemed necessary to support the unions needs and requirements .

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL DEMONSTRATE:

  • At least 1-2 years, experience in administration and working with committees, preferably in a membership-based organisation;
  • Planning, organisational and time management skills, and the ability to be flexible;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Well developed verbal and written communication skills;
  • Interpersonal skills and an ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and members;
  • Initiative and motivation with a positive can do attitude is a must ;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and cooperatively as a member of a small team.
  • Typing skills and computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience in databases.
  • Must have previous experience in working with membership based environment.

Experience / Qualifications Required:

  • Well developed communication and organisational skills
  • Competent/Advanced  Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Drivers Licence
  • Positive can do attitude
  • At least 1-2 years in a similar role
