The Company

Robert Half is currently recruiting for a highly regarded and prestigious organisation in Melbourne’s CBD. Offices are close to public transport and the organisation will offer a flexible hybrid working environment in 2022 for those who would like to do some work from home . This is a large commercial organisation but with a family oriented and supportive team, you will be given full training as you transition into their organisation.

The Role

This is a quick start role which will commence initially on a contract for an absolute minimum of 2-3 months. While it’s a role which is short in nature, it’s a fantastic business and great opportunity to add a highly regarded employer to your CV.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your duties will include:

Accounting – Perform all general accounting duties across the Finance function, including the accurate recording, processing, and reconciling of financial transactions for all aspects of the organisation. Assist with the development of budgets and forecasts.

Payroll – Prepare and process accurate and efficient payroll including relevant reconciliations and reporting (internal and statutory) and maintain awareness of relevant legislative and policy changes.

Reporting – Complete timely internal and statutory reporting and assist with the preparation and review of monthly management reports, ad-hoc reports, and Annual Financial Statements.

Systems – Manage the payroll system and support with the management of other finance related systems.

Compliance and Administration – Support compliance related activities including Financial Management Compliance attestation and internal/external audit related queries. Assist with the management and review of finance related business systems, policies and processes, and provide administrative support to the Audit and Risk Committee.

Other – The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, but within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.

This is a busy and challenging position where no two days are the same. Interviews will take place as early as mid July as we work towards a commencement before the end of the month. Applicants should be available immediately, happy commuting to the CBD and comfortable committing to a 2-3 month contract position.

Your Profile

To be successful, you will be a skilled Accounting professional who is fully qualified or working towards CA/CPA. You will also have strong communication skills, a pleasant personality and the ability to start quickly. Some other important criteria includes:

  • Extensive exposure to accounting standards and general ledger accounting
  • Capable of supporting with end of month financial reporting
  • Some payroll knowledge would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Clean, stable career history
  • Able to commence quickly if successful
  • Happy working in Melbourne’s CBD at least 3 days per week
  • ERP systems experience preferred
