Senior Accounts Receivable Officer

About the role

Nationwide Group’s Finance team is accountable for all matters associated with the financial governance, control and advisory functions of the business. A recent move in the team has resulted in this exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer. 

Working as part of a cohesive and supportive team, and reporting to the AR Team Leader, the role involves:

• Receipting incoming funds (including credit card payments);

• Invoicing (including lodging invoices on customers’ online portals);

• Debt collection, including making and receiving debtor calls regarding overdue accounts, assisting customers with queries, placing customers on stop credit and preparation of collection letters;

• Processing payment reconciliations and payment offsets of AutoClubs;

• Processing new customer accounts (including performing credit checks);

• Assisting in Audit Preparation;

• Performing month end processes, including but not limited to: internal account write offs; following up un-invoiced jobs and debtor Reporting.

Skills & experience

An experienced accounting professional with strong experience in AR, your strong customer focus and superior stakeholder management abilities are key to your success in your role.

Additionally, you will have:

• Qualifications in Finance/Accounting or a related field (desirable);

• An eye for detail, particularly when it comes to continuous improvement initiatives;

• Strong written and verbal communication;

• Proven ability to meet strict deadlines;

• Demonstrable ability to be discrete & maintain a high level of confidentiality;

• Competence in the use of computer-based accounting software packages;

• Intermediate Ms Excel skills.
