Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to work within the Environment and Compliance Team.

  • Permanent full time – 35 hours per week
  • Location – Moree
  • Attractive Salary starting at $52,348.40 (PLUS superannuation) depending on qualifications and experience

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Support Officer role is required to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Environment and Compliance section by releasing technical staff from administrative tasks and ensuring speedy response times.

Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide a high-quality level of customer service to customers and callers to the Environment and Compliance section.
  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to ensure that the necessary operations and services are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Prepare reports for Council and Committee meetings.
  • Preparation of agendas for meetings, distribution of the same and typing of minutes as required.

ABOUT YOU

Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent. 
  • Relevant work experience providing administration support including preparation of correspondence and reports, customer service and record keeping procedures. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and PowerPoint packages.
  • Ability and commitment to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to exercise judgement and clarity in prioritising issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with conflict resolution.
