The Role

We are seeking an individual looking to get a start in their accounting career who believes in the power to drive meaningful businesses to make the world a better place.

In the role you will;

  • Work on a diverse portfolio of clients
  • Reconcile bank transactions
  • Complete clients’ payrolls including superannuation
  • Entering accounts payable invoices
  • End of month client business reviews

Job Duties

  • General bookkeeping duties, including bank reconciliations, entering sales and purchase transactions, and making relevant payments;
  • Preparing and lodging activity statements (knowledge of GST, PAYG Withholding, and Instalments systems required);
  • Payroll processing, including management of superannuation, leave and tax liabilities;
  • Compile documentation to support the preparation of returns, detailing issue resolution and clearly articulating how certain figures/outcomes were achieved;
  • Work closely with the Accounting Team Leader and senior staff to manage client relationships and deliver outcomes in a timely manner;
  • Management of own workflow including time management and prioritisation of jobs.

  The following skills and experience will be highly regarded:

  • Use of Xero accounting platform;
  • Preparing Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements;
  • Preparing Payroll;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work deadlines;
  • Ability to complete work accurately and demonstrate self-review skills;
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with a range of clients across various industries;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to understand the needs of others, and be able to deliver great outcomes;
  • Work as part of a cohesive team;
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
