Steamatic is Australia’s longest established and largest restoration company with over 35 locations throughout Australia and growing each year. We are now recruiting for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our dedicated Head Office team reporting to the Group Accountant.

About the role

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. The Accounts Payable Officer role is to undertake and maintain accounting and related statutory functions to ensure that all obligations towards the Company, suppliers and staff are discharged, and to ensure that accounting records are maintained in an accurate, compliant and up-to-date manner.

What will your typical week look like?

  • Ensure invoices are approved in accordance with company policy
  • Prepare and process invoices for payment
  • Reconciliation of supplier’s invoices and statements
  • Resolve day-to-day issues relating to accounts
  • Handling telephone enquiries from creditors
  • Provide various reports for month/year end to other finance team members
  • Liaise with external creditors
  • Ad-hoc projects and any other responsibilities assigned by the Group Accountant or Financial Controller. 

About you

  • Prior AP experience or a Graduate Accountant ready to kickstart their career
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and ability to ‘hit the ground running’
  • The ability to work cohesively in a small team
  • Can work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Be highly organised and have effective time management
  • Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
