The primary purpose and responsibility of this position is to assist in with the completion of the annual internal audit plan by independently completing individual audit engagements – assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, and recommending improvements to enhance the control environment and deliver operational and financial efficiencies.   

The (newly created) position will be a key contributor to the provision of audit and risk services to Mulpha Australia Limited and Mulpha International Bhd, providing the Board, ARMC and management with an independent assessment of the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of each respective entity’s risk management, control and governance processes. 


Key responsibilities include:

Internal Audit

  • Be able to work autonomously or as part of a team in delivering a portfolio of audit engagements and, with limited direct input or assistance:
  • Undertake all aspects of the audit process, including scheduling and scoping the audit, designing and executing audit tests, drawing appropriate conclusions and  preparing effective audit reports.
  • Completion of the annual minimum number of continuing education hours required to maintain any professional certifications pertinent to the role.
  • Where requested by the Dept Head, assist in the management of the whistleblower hotline process.
  • Apply and uphold the code of ethics of the Institute of Internal Auditors, namely its principles of integrity, objectivity, confidentiality and competency.

Risk Management

  • Prioritise areas of focus, during audit engagements, with the greatest commercial risk and identify commercial opportunities or process enhancements.
  • Assist, where requested, in the preparation of the Statement of Risk Management and Internal Control for inclusion in the Annual Report of Mulpha International Bhd.

GRC Tool

  • Assist in the management of data within the organisation’s GRC tool (Resolver).


Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years auditing experience is required, with at least 3 years in internal audit for a commercial organisation.
  • Experience in operational and financial audits.
  • Experience in range of businesses would be advantageous including:Property development, asset management, hospitality/hotels, funds management and/or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of business drivers and the commercial environment.
  • Robust knowledge of audit standards and assessment / internal audit techniques.
  • Working knowledge of corporate governance and risk assurance techniques.
  • Have conducted interviews with a wide variety of stakeholders and held fact-finding conversations at all levels of an organisation
  • Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
