Our opportunity:

 

UnitingCare is seeking an experienced Transformation Analyst to join the 2030 Strategy & Transformation team. You will be responsible for providing key transformation analytics and reporting, investment analysis and coaching with exposure to all of UnitingCare’s business units. Reporting to the General Manager Transformation, you will provide key and actionable insights to support the delivery of the transformation program. You will also work closely with the Investment Committee to evaluate business cases to provide independent review.

The role of Transformation Analyst will have exposure to a wide range of stakeholders across the business including CEO, CFO, Group Executives and General Managers. The role will have regular exposure to Aged Care, Hospitals, Family & Disability Services and business support functions across a wide range of initiatives.

 

UnitingCare provides health and community services to thousands of people in Queensland every day of the year through its services in Health, Aged Care and Community Services, Family and Disability Services, Retirement Living and Retail. These services encompass eight major brands including UnitingCare, Blue Care, The Wesley Hospital, St Andrews War Memorial, Buderim Private and St Stephens Hospitals, Lifeline and ARRCS (Australian Regional and Remote Community Services).

 

Please note, this is a full time, permanent role. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct data analytics at a Workstream level to determine trends or patterns that require further investigation such as patterns with milestone delivery, regional impacts, and other potential insights.
  • Provide feedback, challenge and coaching support to stakeholders across the business to improve and uphold the integrity of investment valuations submitted to the 2030 program and Investment Committee.
  • Investigate data to identify root causes and insights proactively and when requested.
  • Develop and maintain standard reporting documents for critical meetings such as 2030 ELT weekly meeting, Monthly Board Meeting and bi-monthly Finance Investment Committee meeting.
  • Provides input into CTO pre-brief for weekly cadence of initiative reviews for each business unit and function.
  • Maintains 2030 team view of pipeline including “2030 team risk adjusted view”, including a key focus on top value initiatives.
  • Makes recommendations for subjects to be tabled at CEO Clinics and 2030 ELT meetings.
  • Coaching of stakeholders across the business on Investment Committee process and templates, including building financial models to inform business case assumptions.
  • Maintenance and improvement of key Investment Committee templates.
  • Manage Investment Committee cadence, actions and agenda.
  • Recommend and collate team comments to prepare 2030 assurance overview for Investment Committee submissions.
  • Become an expert user of the Transformation tracking tool (Wave), building dashboards and financial reporting and insights.

 

Your skills & experience:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in an analytical or business discipline with a working knowledge of financial accounting concepts. CA or CPA desirable but not essential. 
  • Previous experience in utilising financial expertise and commercial acumen to support development of business cases and investment proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand opportunities and solve complex business problems through the development of solutions that enable the organisation to achieve its goals.
  • Proven ability to manage large complex data sets in Excel and to automate analytics and build and manage complex financial models.
  • Hard working and able to quickly adapt to new environment and demands.
  • Comfortable in learning new systems and new ways of thinking and acting.
