What you will be doing: 

  • Partnering with the Commercial Finance Manager and the regional and functional managers of the Hardwood Forests Division to provide them with financial analysis, reporting and decision support and to become a trusted financial advisor of the business.
  • Interact with finance staff both in the regions and head office at West Pennant Hills.
  • Be the key finance and analytical resource to Commercial Finance Manager and Senior Managers of the Hardwoods Division. 
  • Be the first point of contact for all finance related queries for Hardwood Division. 
  • Maintain and grow relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support Commercial Finance Manager and Senior Manages with: 
    – Monthly end variance analysis
    – Forecasting process for Hardwood Division
    – Budgeting process for Hardwood Division 
    – Ad-hoc analysis 
    – Concise review of results with insights to drivers of variance. 
    – Insights to trends and financial implications from KPI reporting 
    – Understand and provide insights around internal performance. 
    – Develop and maintain the operating cost forecast models.
    – Continuous improvement of quality of management reports for Hardwood division


We would love you to have: 

  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in commercial accounting, financial management and business performance, business planning and analysis, variance analysis and management reporting.
  • Have a high level analytical and problem-solving skills for strategic issues impacting on organisational operations.
  • Great organisational skills – ability to plan and prioritise work, meet standards and deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with experience in stakeholder management
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills 
  • Computer skills with the ability to learn and apply new technologies to your work including Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Degree in either Accounting or Business, and membership of either the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants (ASCPA) or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ACA) or working towards or relevant skills and experience in these areas
