Exciting opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join a Major Projects & Construction team in Melbourne on a permanent full time basis.

This role will see you provide high level support to business Partner, as well as a number of other practitioners across the Major Projects & Construction team.

The client is Australia’s leading independent law firm and their Major Projects and Construction team is one of the largest dedicated construction practices in the Asia Pacific region, working on some of the most significant infrastructure, construction, engineering and contract mining projects in the region for public and private participants


  • Managing telephones, electronic diaries and voice-mail for team members
  • Drafting, reviewing and preparing correspondence/documentation
  • Managing incoming correspondence, emails and internal and external requests, as well as providing a proactive and efficient approach to producing draft correspondence without direction
  • Manipulation of complex contract documents, including word and excel documentation
  • Assisting with clients and markets activities, including profiles and bid documentation
  • File management, as well as actively attending to email filing/management for Partner
  • General accounts, client monthly reporting, management of purchase orders, monthly billing and reconciliation of expenses
  • Organising meetings and travel, including a proactive approach to reorganising commitments on a needs basis


  • Sound legal secretarial/practice administration experience at a Partner level
  • Strong attention to detail, a proactive work style and first rate secretarial, word processing and document manipulation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and have an innovative, flexible and adaptable approach
  • Ability to anticipate Partner requirements and proactively respond to changing work priorities and Partner requirements
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office skills (including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Previous experience working with time recording and billing systems such as Aderant or 3e highly desirable
