About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to ensure the financial wellbeing of the company’s hospitality business and other company entities. The role will have an emphasis on The Angel (hospitality division) so could suit someone with chartered accounting experience or a hospitality background.


  • Prepare weekly payroll for award-based staff at The Angel (Pub & Gaming operations)
  • Partner with the Pub Manager to ensure accuracy of journal entries and general ledger
  • Prepare PAYG and BAS for lodgement
  • Carry out month end close procedures including preparation of account reconciliations, posting of accrual journal entries, and preparing supporting documents
  • Assist Financial Controller with preparation of monthly management accounts including meaningful variance analysis
  • Ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Work on ad-hoc projects alongside the wider finance team in the property development business unit, including preparing rental guarantees, balance sheet reconciliation and settlement journals & reports

About You

As someone who is results oriented and committed to quality outcomes, you will also bring the following skills, experience, and behaviours:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business
  • 3 + years in a comparative role
  • Previous experience in a hospitality accounting environment is essential
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA) highly regarded
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate cross functionally and with stakeholders at all levels
  • Mature, detailed, and organised approach to work
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities to meet schedules and timeframes
  • Experience with Xero or similar accounting software
