An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Business Analyst to join our business in WA for a 12 Month Fixed Contract.

What your typical day will look like:

As the Business Analyst, you will provide analytical support to the WA Consolidated business for Palletized Express. Acting as a key business partner to the business and assisting the Commercial Manager WA, the Business Analyst function will provide timely and insightful analysis to support business decision making to maximising profitability, growth and business targets.

Part of the success will be to further develop commercial acumen of all layers of management, particularly across operational personnel. This is to be achieved through guidance and by challenging the status quo of business managers of their day to day operations to improve financial performance.

Other responsibilities Include:

  • Manage the production of State weekly and monthly results and reporting metrics including commentary on variances whilst meeting reporting deadlines set by National office
  • Collaborating with the business in building accurate budgets, forecasts, and projections
  • Facilitate analytical activities, general commercial support and formulating financial reporting including detailed variance analysis to budget, prior year and forecast
  • Lead and managing the State business planning activities including forecasting, and budgeting with a focus on collaborative stakeholder engagement both up and downstream
  • Provide financial analysis, advise and recommendation on business improvement initiatives including cost down and revenue targets
  • Maintain a solid understanding of business operations and actively support the National, State and Branch managers in decision making
  • Ongoing reporting and analysis of performance metrics tracking to trends and targets and assisting the branch and General Managers in understating these performances
  • Responsible for the preparation of business cases and capital expenditure submissions in line with company hurdle rates

What we are looking for:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
  • Member of a Professional Accounting Association – CA/CPA/Equivalent(Desirable)
  • Technical accounting competency
  • Strong background in financial analysis, system-driven projects, analysis and solutions
  • Highly developed, proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in utilising system skills including Microsoft office suite and an ERP system
  • Ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to lead by example in a hands on environment while maintaining a focus on business goals
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
