Your new role
Reporting to the Financial controller, this is a great opportunity to join a well qualified and cohesive team.
You will be responsible for a range of duties
- Expense accounting covering payroll, prepayments, credit cards, and general accruals;
- Partnering with functional managers to periodically review overheads and explain variances to budget whilst accurately forecasting future expenditure;
- Ensuring for the accurate preparation and timely lodgement of indirect tax returns (FBT, Payroll Tax, GST);
- Providing leadership and direction across the Accounts Receivable function and supervising day-to-day activities to ensure receipt of customer payments within terms, whilst actively providing risk management services to minimise credit exposure;
- Assisting operational staff in managing capital projects through ensuring spend within authorised budgets, regular financial review, timely closure and capitalisation;
- Managing the Fixed Asset Register including additions, disposals and periodic physical verifications; and
- Participating in period end close procedures for areas of responsibility and maintaining related balance sheet reconciliations.
What you’ll need to succeed
It is absolutely essential that you can demonstrate experience in a similar financial accounting role. You are a motivated self starter who shows initiative and you are someone who works well as part of a team.
You are CPA / CA qualified possibly with an audit and commercial background. You are someone who communicates easily across an organisation and it goes without saying that you come with a thorough understanding of accounting standards.
