Established in 1945 from one man, one paddock, to the fourth generation – The Mackay Group is Australia’s Leading Banana Grower. From planting the first crop of bananas over 75years ago the farming business has expanded to produce bananas, papaya, sugarcane, cattle and avocados. The business is now directed by the family’s 3rd generation and the company employs more than 550 staff across 9 locations stretching from Cooktown to Brisbane. In more recent years this vertically integrated business has expanded into ripening and processing of produce.
This accounts payable position is a full-time role based at our head office in Tully.
The key duties of the position will include:
- Processing invoices accurately and timely
- Matching invoices to Purchase Orders/PODs
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Matching and reconciling invoices and statements
- Providing role coverage support within the finance team where required
Required competencies and qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar position desired
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively and prioritise competing demands
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
