About the Company

Established in 1947, McKechnie Iron Foundry Pty Ltd is a family owned and operated business with 40 employees that produces castings for mining, smelters, steel works and engineering industries. The company is now seeking an experienced Finance and Administration Manager to complete the management team upon the retirement of our current Finance and Admin Manager.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, your role will include responsibility for overseeing the finance and administration functions of the business. You will provide on-going support to the team and ensure streamlined systems and processes will  maintain and improve business operations. This role will integrate with a long standing and professional management team where your skills and experience will contribute to the strategies and decision making within the company and is supported by external professionals. 

Duties

  • Overseeing the day-to-day financial management of the Company 
  • Preparing monthly financial reports for the General Manager and Board
  • Prepare and submit BAS, Payroll Tax and Workcover returns.
  • Debtor and creditor management and preparation of payments
  • Maintaining fixed Assets Register and Depreciation Schedules
  • Preparation of financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting
  • Apply and interpret modern awards and EBA agreements in consultation with the GM.
  • Preparing and approval of payroll for processing 
  • Ensuring data integrity with administrative and purchasing systems
  • Maintaining licences, approvals and statutory documents for the company
  • Overseeing the administrative and finance team 
  • Liaise with external accounting firm for audit, tax and FBT.

Skills & Experience 

  • Experience in manufacturing looked upon favourably .
  • Membership of a professional accounting body desirable (CIMA, CA, CPA or equivalent) 
  • Experience in interpreting and applying awards, employment Law and IR relations
  • Advanced Excel skills and financial systems experience
  • Excellent communication skills
