About the Role:

To provide commercial support and advice to the Dan Murphys Operations Team, in particular with regards to store wages, using data to drive performance reporting, planning and insightful analysis that improves and supports decision-making.

Performance Reporting, Interpretation & Planning

  • Responsible for the production and distribution of weekly and monthly store wages performance reporting and analysis
  • Improve and automate existing reporting and introduce new reporting where necessary to support Operations stakeholders with timely and insightful information on store wages and underlying cost drivers
  • Pro-actively rationalise reporting and ad hoc requests, through a culture of continuous Improvement
  • Responsible for the store wages budget and forecast processes, understanding key drivers and associated impacts on cost per hour and hours worked
  • Support across Operations Finance team responsibilities as required

Decision Support

  • Support Simpler For Stores team to ensure impacts on store wages are fully understood; work together to ensure budgets and forecasts are robust and accurate; work together to determine actual benefit dollars
  • Analyse initiatives with supporting information and recommendations on cost reduction opportunities and/or to improve store financial performance
  • Proactively communicate commercial impacts of past and future activities amongst stakeholders
  • Support strategic and project analysis (e.g. business cases) to drive improved returns on capital investments and business initiatives

Team & Culture

  • Proactively work with key stakeholders to optimise ways of working across the Operations team
  • Proactively liaise with relevant teams on cross functional activities
  • Support broader finance team when necessary and improve team ways of working
  • Drive an automation mindset across the team and enhance consistent systems usage

About You:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • CA / CPA Qualification preferred but not essential
  • Strong data analysis and modelling skills to analyse and summarise high volumes of data from a variety of sources
  • Strong understanding of multiple complex retail wage structures and associated on-costs
  • Strong presentation and communication skills; able to make the complex simple
  • Able to ensure the approach and output is simple, structured, accurate and robust
  • Strong experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, macros), SAP
