About the role

We are looking for a hands-on and personable Operations Support Officer to deliver a wide range of support activities and become the key ‘go to’ person within the organisation. 

This full-time role will suit someone who can manage their own workload, likes problem solving and enjoys building connections with colleagues. You will be joining a small team of resilient, friendly and dedicated individuals and will become part of a reputable organisation.

The role is based at our Port of Brisbane office and includes but is not limited to:

  • Provide daily operational support to the Project and Site Managers
  • Prepare, raise, coordinate goods receipting, and control purchase orders in Buildertrend for operational requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding status of outstanding orders and invoices and assist finance, where required.
  • Assist in performing Estimates to Actual Variance analysis as required.
  • Create and complete work orders as required.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly reporting on operational performance.
  • Assist with maintaining site files.
  • Assist with external contractor management.
  • Assist with safety documentation across projects.
  • Provide support in the tendering process when required.

What are the skills required?

To secure this role you must have:

  • Good communication skills including customer service skills.
  • Good systems-based approach to manage own time and task diversity.
  • Confidence and competence in working in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • The desire to be part of a diverse team.
  • An interest in pursuing a career the construction industry.

Desirable skills are:

  • Previous administration/operations support experience
  • Certificate II or higher in Business Admin or similar
  • Experience using XERO
