About the Role

A fantastic opportunity exists for a Senior Manager – Technology Audit, to join BOQ’s Internal Audit team. With the flexibility to be based out of our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office, this role will support our Chief Audit Executive in carrying out the internal audit work required in providing independent and objective assurance to the Bank and its stakeholders. This exciting opportunity will see you work across all of BOQ Group’s brands, including Virgin Money Australia and ME Bank.  

As Senior Manager – Technology Audit, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing proposed audit plans for their area of responsibility, which includes:
    • Maintaining the Risk Assessment to reflect both current and potentially emerging risks,
    • Proposing to the Head of Audit potential areas of audit focus, and
    • Working with business process owners to agree high level scope and potential timing of the audit activity.
  • Delivering individual internal audits, which includes:
    • Reviewing and evaluating the design of the business and governance processes,
    • Evaluating the risk management activities,
    • Understanding and assessing whether management are complying with their key compliance obligations, including regulatory risk requirements affecting the Group,
    • Providing assurance on the design and operating effectiveness of the internal controls,
    • Managing any outsourced providers involved in Internal Audits, and
    • Preparing audit reports that are clear, concise with the overall conclusion supported by quality audit evidence.
  • Managing outstanding audit findings, which includes:
    • Keeping the GRC up to date with the current status,
    • Confirming that the gaps identified in a finding have been addressed before agreeing to close the finding.

And finally supporting the Chief Audit Executive in preparation of audit material to be presented to key management/board committees.

About you

Our Senior Manager Technology Audit will have an in-depth knowledge and application of Internal Audit Methodologies and experience in developing Internal Audit plans.

You will have strong risk assessment and control evaluation, and strong analytical skills and data analytics capability. 

A customer service focus and superior written and verbal communication skills will see you thrive in the role, as you will be liaising with senior management, external auditors and regulators on a regular basis. 

We’d love you to have previous experience with leadership and coaching, as you will be looked upon to champion, inspire and coach both individuals and teams in their career development at all stages.

Ideally you will have worked within Financial or Professional Services, and an understanding of Banking, to ensure you hit the ground running.
