What this opportunity involves: 

Reporting to the GM, the Finance Manager will be based on asset in Brisbane CBD. You will be looking after one commercial building and one heritage building in the Brisbane CBD, along with one A-grade building in Fortitude Valley. You will ensure all financial reporting, AP, AR tasks for the Queensland commercial properties are completed in an accurate, timely and efficient manner. 

 

 

What this role involves: 

  • Assist the Property Managers with preparation and delivery of annual property business plans and budgets. 
  • Prepare and submit monthly accruals.
  • Prepare accurate and complete monthly property financial reports and present to the client in monthly management meetings.
  • Quarterly forecasting and detailed commentary reporting to client on the variances to forecast/budget within the buildings financial report.
  • Assist the Property Managers with the documentation, reporting and collection of tenant arrears within client performance parameters and update tenant comments on a weekly basis.
  • Manage the preparation of tenant invoices for all sundry charges (including electricity, after hour air conditioning and other miscellaneous charges).
  • Ensure invoices are coded for payment and approval by the Property/Centre Manager.
  • Assist the Property Managers to ensure tenant records are maintained and all tenant charges are processed in accordance with lease deals, CPI reviews, market reviews and standard rent reviews for the property.
  • Ensure monthly rental tax invoices are disbursed to tenants.
  • Oversee the monthly review and update of tenant’s bank guarantees and public liability certificates.
  • Complete end of financial year reconciliation of tenant outgoings and direct charges, and progress adjustments with tenants as required. 
  • Assist the property managers with the conducting of annual and on-going lease audits upon completion of lease deals, assignments, when in receipt of a copy of an executed lease to ensure all details on the tenancy schedule are correct and the system is up to date.
  • Assist with other finance and lease administration duties as required.

  • Tertiary education in Business, Commerce, Finance or related disciplines 
  • Proven finance experience preparing accruals and forecasting 
  • Prior experience in the Property industry is desirable 
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles 
  • Sound proficiency in MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to liaise with all levels of stakeholders and clients alike
