Working within the Compliance Unit, the team monitors and audits service providers’ compliance to ensure that appropriate safeguards for children and vulnerable people are being implemented and maintained. 

As an AO4 Investigator you will contribute to the units investigation, monitoring and auditing functions and conduct aspects of the team’s operations in accordance with the Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice in relation to the functions and powers of the Branch as set out in the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 and formulate innovative solutions and recommendations about issues impacting on compliance functions generally.
  • Conduct straightforward investigations, and assist on more complex investigations, monitoring activities and audits and prepare or assist in the preparation of briefs of evidence.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, submissions and documents for both internal and external stakeholders regarding the operation of the Act.
  • Liaise with all internal and relevant external stakeholders (e.g. QPS, agencies within other jurisdictions, members of the community and community associations)
  • Maintain all relevant databases used by the team in the pursuit of its objectives
  • Contribute to information and data flows involving the team’s functions to ensure performance accountability, security, accuracy and planning needs are met
