South-East Queensland’s (SEQ) public transport and rail network is going through a significant transformation to change the way our public transport rail system will operate into the future.

The implementation of Cross River Rail (CRR) and the European Train Control System (ETCS) has seen continued growth within our Operational Systems Engineering (OSE) team, therefore we are looking for a Business Improvement Analyst to drive and support OSE components of the business.

This is a fixed term 2-year opportunity for an experienced Business Improvement Analyst, we are looking for a candidate who can partner with wide range of stakeholders to capture and elicit business requirements, including requirement discovery for systems development for current and future state, as well as support of Business As Usual activities. This role isn’t all about data capture and analysis, we are looking for someone who can really drive business partnerships to review, improve, design/re-design business requirements as it relates to Operational Systems.

Below are some of the key position responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders of projects to assist the Asset Strategy and Engineering Systems team to gather, consolidate and document requirements.
  • Develop operational scenarios to ensure in-depth technical and processing requirements of the end user, as well as delivery of information to a group of technical experts in a clear and concise format.
  • Drive the process of operational software development by gathering requirements and data analysis and produce clear and informative documentation,
  • Coach and mentor team members, business managers and supervisors to build knowledge and capability.

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and consultation skills, with demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Preference of experience in an IT/OT environment and software development work.
  • Strong ability to capture and trace requirements through the product development lifecycle.
  • Ability to work with a variety of different audiences including technical, non-technical, customer facing, external stakeholders and ensure presentation of documentation is relevant to each party.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on systems-based business requirements for Major Projects.
