Your Role

  • Design and specification of LV AC electrical system components; including protection and isolation devices, and cables.
  • Design and specification of the DC electrical system; from input into the PV module design, through to specification of cables, protection and isolation devices, and inverter DC input requirements.
  • Design and specification of the HV AC electrical system (e.g. transformers, protection scheme etc.) in consultation with partners and external specialists as required.
  • Supporting design of control system architecture and control system hardware selection (e.g. PLC modules, network switches, etc.)
  • Design of control system cabinets and selection of various hardware devices (e.g. energy meters, VSDs, etc.)
  • Working on Tenders issued by Govt. or public sector.
  • Application of Australian Electrical Standards through use of industry best practice principles, methodologies, and standards.
  • Researching and developing ideas and standards and thinking outside normal procedures.
  • Optimising designs against environmental and performance factors.
  • Managing cost in design and ensuring safety in the design process.
  • Liaising with the local power distributors to secure grid connection agreements and providing technical documentation processes for future to projects.
  • Visiting sites and getting details.

You Need

To be considered for the position you will have;

  • Experience in the Commercial Solar Design and Projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in designing 100kW projects is required.
  • Knowledge in designing 200kW or above projects will be helpful but not required.
  • Experience in DC/AC designs & modeling of solar / batteries project in Australia is required.
  • Experience and knowledge in DNSP approvals and compliance requirements (100kW job is must).
  • Experience in PVSYST, AUTOCAD or Similar Software.
  • Experience in EPC projects focusing on engineering issues and modeling.
  • Solid technical understanding of Solar PV and electronics.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent Communication skills are essential, with the ability to negotiate and handle difficult conversations with clients.
  • Experience or Knowledge in Tender application process is required.
  • Must have a car.
