Essential Criteria:

*Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

*NDIS Worker Screening Check

*Covid 19 Vaccination

*Minimum Cert 3 Individual/Disability/Education Support – or willing to obtain

*1 year industry experience in Australia, or personal lived experience

*Ability to work evenings and weekends

*Be dedicated and committed to long term employment

*Be able to work independently as well as part of a team including with families

*Be able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings

*Be able to travel between Penrith and Parramatta

*High proficiency in verbal and written English

Desirable Criteria:

* Current First aid and CPR certificates

* Epilepsy training

* Healthcare/Peg feed certificate

* Bowel care training

* Medication administration training

* Autism specific training

* Knowledge of Makaton and Boardmaker

The role will commence on a casual basis, with the possibility of moving to part-time after 3 months.

Position Specifics

We have clients in Western Sydney and South-West Sydney. We are looking for Disability Support Carers in Western Sydney to support our participants with daily personal activities and community access.

These activities include but are not limited to:

Attending to all areas of personal care

Enjoying time in the community with participants

Interacting with participants during leisure activities at home and in the community

Transporting participants to required activities

Liaising with other service providers and professionals

We are a great team and value input from all staff. We work collaboratively to ensure both participants and staff receive a high level of care, support and assistance.

We pay above award (SCHADS) wages and this is negotiated based on level of experience and education.

Job Type and Category

You will commence this position as a casual with the potential to move to permanent part or full time. We do offer a regular, consistent roster, however all positions commence as casual with the possibility of extending to permanent part time or full time.

We are family friendly and work closely and flexibly with all staff to ensure the needs of staff as well as the organisation are met.

You will need to be available to work weekends as well as weekdays and hours of rostered services vary between 6am and 11pm.

As a Plan Wise Living carer you will be employed under the SCHADS (home care) award and be paid above award rates.

They are planning for their childs future and want to create the best future not only for their child but for others living with disability also.

Though we work across Western and South-West Sydney, this vacancy is primarily for carers able to work in and around the Penrith and Campbelltown LGA’s.
