The UTS People Unit’s vision is to be at the core of UTS’s success with people and culture at the heart of what we do via a contemporary, agile operating model. Specialist HR advice and problem solving is central to how we provide client service and enable our Faculties and Divisions to deliver on their people strategies.

Our unit is comprised of specialist teams that provide a dedicated HR service to our organisation, enabling our staff to lead, conduct and support world class, innovative and impact focused teaching and research.

Currently, we have a number of opportunities and are calling for expressions of interest for HR professionals to join the UTS People Unit. These include:

  • People Business Partner (HEW 9)
  • People Consultant (HEW 7)
  • People Advisor (HEW 5)

In joining the UTS People Unit, you will be a part of a collaborative, supportive and collegial group of experienced HR professionals who are comfortable pivoting and assisting where needed in order to support one another to best service our University academic and professional staff.

About the roles

As a HR Advisor (HEW 5), you will:
-Work collaboratively with other HR advisors to the goal of managing a high volume of tier 1 HR defined process and people related queries through a centralised HR inbox with accuracy and confidence
-Provide a range of administrative HR support including assisting UTS staff with HR self-service tools, processing system notifications through our Oracle based HRIS and assist with drafting employment and appointment contracts.
-As our ideal candidate, you will have demonstrated experience in a HR advisory/administrative role, a commitment to customer service and a broad understanding of HR best practice. Ideally, this experience will have come from your time working in a HR focused role in a large and complex organisation

As a People Consultant (HEW 7), you will:
-Work flexibly and with agility to provide support and generalist advice/guidance on a range of HR matters to a broad group of managers working collaboratively with other People Consultants through the establishment and piloting of a Partner Advice model
-Provide support to People Business Partners and a HR Client Services team during the coordination and implementation of various change management and process improvement initiatives
-As our ideal candidate, you will have demonstrated experience building relationships and providing consultative HR advice to a range of stakeholders along with a comfortability advising on HR matters and processes within a large and complex organisation.

As a People Business Partner (HEW 9) while covering a period of parental leave, you will:
-Partner with senior clients and stakeholders through the provision of expert advice and guidance on a range complex HR matters encompassing the whole employee lifecycle
-Work collaboratively to coordinate and enact change management initiatives across areas of our organisation with a through a deep understanding of complex Enterprise Agreements
-As our ideal candidate, you will have a demonstrated background in partnering with senior leaders and providing expert advice on complex HR matters, ideally within a large and complex organisation. You will also be confidently able to engage stakeholders at all levels through your high quality written and verbal communication skill
-Candidates with experience in one or more of the areas of Employee Relations, Remuneration, Change Management and/or Workplace Health and Safety combined with HR partnering are encouraged to apply

Remuneration

A base salary of up to the following values will be offered to the ideal candidates for the relevant roles, dependant on experience and skills:

People Advisor: base salary of up to $84,598 p.a (HEW 5)
People Consultant: base salary of up to $104,713 p.a (HEW 7)
People Business Partner: base salary of up to $130,152 p.a (HEW 9)

UTS offers market-leading 17% superannuation in addition to base salary.
