We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic, committed and experienced OOSH Assistant Director to join our fabulous team of dedicated educators.



Wallsend P&C Association OOSH is an Exceeding not-for-profit service that operates within the school grounds of Wallsend Public School. Wallsend OOSH operates:

Before School Care 6:30am – 9:00am

Afterschool Care 3:00pm – 6:00pm

Vacation Care 6:30am – 6:00pm

We are a quickly expanding service that currently has placement for up to 85 children servicing three schools in our local community. We strive on achieving a high level of care, along with having a professional and approachable friendly environment.



  • Permanent part time position, minimum 30 hours per week
  • Assist with the day to day running of the service
  • Guide and support educators in providing high quality care
  • Assist with management of correspondence with families including enrolments and bookings
  • Assist with programming and planning as required
  • Supervision of children ensuring safety and enjoyment at all times



  • Minimum Diploma in Outside School Hours Care
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with 5-12 years
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework
  • Must hold First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis (HLTAID004)
  • Child Protection training
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Capable of working unsupervised and as a team leader/member, liaise with staff, parents and the school
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop, implement and evaluate programs for 5-12 years
  • Current drivers licence and willing to drive a 12 seater bus at times
  • Must be available Monday – Friday BSC & ASC (split shifts)
  • Must be available Monday – Friday during school holidays for Vacation Care



  • Well-developed office management, administration, computer literacy and time management skills
  • Developed decision-making, problem solving, planning and organisation skills 
  • Experience using Xplor or other childcare management software
  • Experience working with children and families from culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Experience working with children with additional needs
  • Knowledge of WHS
