About the role:
  • Accountable for the safe and efficient delivery of projects through proactive planning and management of construction in line with design, time, cost and other project constraints
  • You will oversee and support a small team while interfacing with site personnel in order to achieve project objectives.
  • Your energy and determination to drive your team forward and communicate at all levels of the organisation will be essential to your success in the role.
  • Experience in bulk earthworks, detailed excavation, and civil infrastructure would be highly regarded to contribute to our continued success and expansion.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering projects ranging in monetary value
  • Managing all phases of the project including cost management, scheduling and budget control
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Reviewing, preparing and monitoring the implementation of project construction programmes
  • Identify and resolve issues related to program, quality, scope, integration and coordination with all stakeholders to ensure stakeholder outcomes are achieved
  • Reporting on projects at an executive level, including the preparation and reporting on financial position against budget
  • Leading the project team to ensure effective and timely delivery of projects
  • Actively identify, review and report project and business risks, schedule and change issues and maintain records
  • Ensuring the implementation of safe work practices by advocating for training and resources
  • Participating in project handovers with the Estimating and Cost Planning division
  • Preparing and reviewing contracts and financial budgets
  • Investigating incidents and initiating corrective actions
  • Liaising and coordinating with clients and sub-contractors
Skills and experience
  • High-level Construction project management skills is essential to ensure that works are delivered to required standards by exceeding the project requirements, particularly relating to quality, safety and environmental management
  • Tertiary qualifications and minimum 5 years’ experience within Construction, with a particular emphasis on contract management
  • Experience in the delivery of fast-paced complex projects
  • Ability to interpret and apply contract documentation
  • Sound understanding of cost management and budget control
  • Solid negotiation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead, supervise and direct team members
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to think laterally
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
