Full-Time / Fixed Term Contract (12 months 2022/23)
- Salary: $86,635 – $140,058 p.a. – MDP2G
- Salary: $144,389 – $150,164 p.a. – MDP3G
Bringing your experience in neonatal and paediatric critical care medical disciplines, you will work with with an experienced Neonatal and Paediatric Retrieval Nurse to deliver high quality, patient focused care to critically ill or injured children and neonates through response by road vehicle, turbo prop fixed wing aircraft or helicopter to patients in inter-facility transport and retrieval environments, and may also participate in patient retrieval and repatriation utilising jet fixed wing and commercial airlines.
With support, the Retrieval Fellow will also take a leading role in service Clinical Governance and quality assurance activities, educate and mentor less experiences medical staff within the service and collaboratively lead service research activities. Excellent communication skills with a focus on problem solving and conflict resolution will be essential.
To be successful, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine: Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent and will be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as Medical Practitioner and satisfy mandatory registration requirements in accordance with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA). You will have at least 6 months Neonatal/Paediatric critical care experience which must include significant time spent in a level 6 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and may include time spent in a Tertiary level Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, including Independent or autonomous experience in the initial management of acutely ill and injured children and neonates.
