GTE is an engineering firm specialising in control systems, electrical, industrial communications and functional safety engineering in the mining and industrial sectors. To support our strong pipeline of work we have openings within our core Project Team. We are on the lookout for a Senior Control Systems Engineer with strong PLC & SCADA working experience to assist with a number of projects.
  
This position will take a senior role in the design, development, implementation and commissioning of high-quality engineering solutions. We aim to meet or exceed client requirements with a particular focus on Allen-Bradley PLC Systems and CitectSCADA.

Key Responsibilities:  
  • Take a senior role in the design, development, implementation and commissioning of high-quality engineering solutions that meet or exceed our customers’ requirements.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, on budget, on schedule and safely.
  • Ensure project risks are identified and managed to the client’s satisfaction
  • Ensure that designs comply with relevant client and government Codes, Standards, Specifications, Regulations and Procedures.
  • Develop and maintain key project documents
  • Perform client interfacing support
  • Ensure current technical standards, reference materials, software programs and tools are in place as necessary for the use of the project engineering and technical disciplines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs
  • Act on opportunities to grow the business through customer relationship management and high-quality project delivery.
    
About You:  
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience with Control Systems in the Mining Industry, ideally with at least 2 years on a site operational/maintenance based role.
  • Strong RSLogix 5000 skills
  • Strong Citect SCADA skills, particularly with Version 7.5 and above
  • Wonderware SCADA experience (desirable)
  • Client focused with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise daily workload
  • Ability to identify and analyse project problems, formulate appropriate courses of action and recommendations and support implementation.
  • Strong project management skills and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring junior engineers
  • BHP and Allen-Bradley PLC experience is highly desirable
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.  
Your Qualifications, Licences and Working Requirements:  
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronic, or similar)
  • Valid C-class driver’s license
  • Ability to carry out site visits when required
  • Ability to work outside of business hours when required
  • Australian residency or possession of a valid visa with work entitlement in Australia
  • Professional registration is desirable
