Senior Farm Hand – Mixed cropping & sheep property
About Us:
This Proud family-owned mixed cropping and sheep property located at Whitemore,25 minutes from Launceston in northern Tasmania. We are offering a long-term and exciting opportunity for an experienced farm hand to grow personally and professionally while contributing to the business.
The operation is comprised of mixed cropping under irrigation, including peas, poppies, beans, seed potatoes and Rye grass seed production. Currently running 3800 breeding ewes and fat lamb production.
The opportunity to join our team:
We are seeking an experienced, energetic, capable and proactive person to join the Mount View team who has proven hands-on experience in machinery operation and maintenance. We run modern and safe equipment that you will be responsible for operating and manitaining. Your key responsabilities include calibrating and operation our seed drill,operation a combine harvester and various other tillage equipment. You will be actively involved in all stages of the cropping cycle. You will also undertake irrigation, stock work, fencing and general farm duties.

About you:
You are fun, hard-working, passionate about agriculture in Tasmania, keen to develop your skills and ready to learn the managerial side of a progressive farming operation.
You are comfortable working across all of the general farm tasks from maintenance to fencing and sheep work, as well as enthusiastically approaching whatever the day may present.
Your calm and logical attitude ensures that problems are avoided in the first place and resolved quickly if they arise.
You have a sound level of written and verbal communication skills, and committed to best practice farm safety and the highest standards of animal welfare.
We are looking for someone, mechanically-minded who has several years experience operating farm machinery. You will be confident, safe and competent while opperating machinery.
The successful candidate will also have irrigation experience- preferably across pivot, linea and hard hose irrigation. You will have a understanding of technology.
Chem Cert, spraying experience, truck license and fork lift licence are desirable.

A drivers license is essential.
