Victoria’s new public Correctional Centre is approaching completion and now is the time to apply for ongoing jobs that will help shape the future operations of the facility.

Drive the development and delivery of services, using technology and innovation to shape facility functions. The Senior Operations Manager – Communities is responsible for leadership, case management, offender services and vocational services as well as the delivery of security and safety.
You will build and lead a dynamic multi-disciplinary team through the commissioning phase and into ongoing facility operations. In addition, you will provide high-level strategic planning that results in exceptional operational implementation.
Once operational, you will be responsible for the delivery of the Western Plains Communities, leading a staff service team (custodial and VPS) that works directly with each other and prisoners delivering practice, culture, interventions, programs and human rights compliant decision-making that supports rehabilitation and safety. You will be responsible for managing high level, day-to-day needs in the prison, contributing to the ongoing strategic planning, implementation, and improvement of prison operations in a changing environment.
The Senior Operations Manager will also act as general manager of the prison when required.
Your skills and experience
You will have the ability to create a shared vision for the future with demonstrated leadership experience within a complex service delivery environment. This includes a solutions-focus, innovative thinking, communication and negotiation skills, plus the ability to lead positive and productive teams.
You will be a champion for best practice correctional management with a commitment to continuous improvement and exceptional organisational culture.
Senior Operations Manager applicants with experience in human services, case management, criminal justice or leadership who are new to the Victorian corrections environment, will be provided with an individualised learning pathway to ensure the development of prison-related capability.
