About the role:
To organize and deliver theory, practical, flexible and simulation classes in Mental Health Peer Work units including WH&S, trauma informed care, applying lived experience, peer work practices, ethical, legal and diversity factors in the mental health field, managing personal stresses etc.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Personal experience as a consumer or carer of Mental Health Services and ability to utilise the lived
experience to train others.
- At least 1 year experience working as a Mental Health peer worker role and teaching in Vocational Education and Training (VET).
- A qualification in Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Worker
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40110) including Design and Develop Assessment Tools (TAEASS502) and Address Adult language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills (TAELLN411) or (TAELLN401A).
- A thorough knowledge of current industry practices and procedures with a demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain liaisons within the Mental Health Peer Worker Industry
