About the Opportunity
Our waste team provide essential services at our landfills, at waste transfer stations, driving our litter trucks and operating machinery. Every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our Community. To help us achieve this we are looking for candidates who are able to be a positive contribution to our hard-working teams as well as having the ability to work independently. All roles will have face to face interaction with our customers so you should also be able to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills and be able to successfully deal with customers who may not be happy. These roles are physical and you must be capable of operating and carrying out the duties of the role.
We have a number of full time and part time roles available:
Waste Depot Attendant
Our Waste Depot Attendants work across our primary site at Cairncross and our waste transfer stations at Port Macquarie, Wauchope and Kew. In this role you will be required to operate weighbridges, weighbridge software and process payments. You will be responsible for directing customers to designated disposal locations, pushing up waste stockpiles, assessing loads of waste against council’s fees and charges and general site maintenance duties.
This role is available part time, 24 hours per week and offers starting salary of $540.20 per week + super with the opportunity for competency based progression within the first three months and ongoing.
Waste Excavator Operator
This role operates our onsite plant including 22 tonne excavators, 39 tonne landfill compactor and MR trucks (a MR licence is required). On a day to day basis, you will be located at Cairncross Waste Management Facility and will manage stockpiles using an excavator, maintain drains and roads, load trucks with crushed concrete and other materials and maintain general upkeep of the site.
This roles offer a full time starting salary of $1,046.00 per week + super with the opportunity for competency based progression within the first three months and ongoing.
Waste Relief Operator
Our Relief Operators enjoy variety in their work as they cover for all roles within the waste team; this means that no day is the same! You may be at one of our waste facilities one day, out on the litter truck another and operating our plant on another. For this reason, you should hold an MR licence as a base and experience and/or tickets in other plant is highly regarded.
This roles offer a base full time starting salary of $977.50 per week + super with the opportunity for competency based progression within the first three months and ongoing. You will also be paid at the appropriate grade when carrying out duties in other, higher graded roles.
