About the Role
At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our Community. To help us achieve this we require a number of Wastewater Process Attendant to work as part of the Water & Sewer Process team. This person must be a team player, a strong communicator and an analytical thinker. We are looking for team members that have a keen eye for detail, an enthusiastic approach to work and an understanding of systems and processes.
On a typical day our Wastewater Process Attendant will:
- Assist in control, operation, monitoring, testing and maintenance of all facets of Council’s Wastewater and Recycled Water Treatment Plants systems
- Conduct sample collection to meet NSW Regulatory requirements
- Assist with performing laboratory & field water quality testing
- Maintain wastewater pumping stations
Role Criteria
To be successful in this role, you should have relevant experience in the water, sewer or construction industry. A relevant trade qualification or a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate or Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (or in the process of obtaining) would also be desirable. Recent water industry experience would be highly regarded. You will also display a working knowledge of obligations under the Work Health and Safety act, hold a class C drivers licence and be available for the out of hours on call roster.

Remuneration
Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary (6 months), 38 hours per week
Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $1,046.20 with the opportunity for competency based progression
Allowances: A sewer choke allowance and on call allowance is payable for this role.

About Councils Process Sewer Team
The Sewer Process Team operates and maintains Councils Wastewater Treatment Plants to ensure that the wastewater is treated to a high standard that meets our regulatory requirements. The team works closely with internal & external stakeholders including NSW Health, NSW Department Industry and the NSW EPA to ensure we meet these requirements. Operation of these systems requires a team of highly skilled operators, that understand mechanical systems, chemical and biological treatment systems and have a high level of computer literacy to use our remote monitoring and data entry systems.
